Import Studies from Any Database
If you want to import papers from databases other than PubMed, you can do so using the RIS format.
Web of Science
Say, you want to import studies from Web of Science.
Go to Web of Science and run a search. Filter results.
Click on Export, select RIS, then Records from. It lets you export upto 1,000 records in one go.
Click on Export and it will download an RIS file on your computer.
To download the next 1,000 records, go back to Web of Search.
Click on Export and select RIS.
Enter the record numbers 1,001 to 2000, and click on Export.
This will download the next 1,000 records as an RIS file to your computer.
EBSCO
In the case of EBSCO, open the database and run a search.
Filter results.
Click on the down arrow in the box next to Results.
Select Export Results and enter your email and the format as RIS.
You will receive an email containing a download link.
Click on it and a RIS file will be downloaded to your computer.
Scopus
In the case of Scopus, run a search and filter results.
Then click on Export and select RIS. Specify the number of records you want to download.
Then choose the kind of data you want the RIS file to contain.
Click on Export and an RIS file will be downloaded.
Science Direct
For ScienceDirect, open the database and run a search.
Filter results and change the number of displayed results to 100.
Click the square box on the top of results and then click on "Export."
Select the RIS option and it will download an RIS file to your computer.
Ovid
In Ovid, you can run your search.
Click on the export button on the top-right of search results.
Choose RIS as the form and specify fields according to your requirements.
Then click on Export and and RIS file will be downloaded to your computer
Importing to Silvi
Go to Silvi and log in to your account.
Start a new project and choose a title.
Click on "Import studies" and then "Your own files."
Upload the RIS file and the papers will be added. Now you can start screening them.
