Using ERIC searches in Silvi

Silvi lets you import papers directly from ERIC. Here's how:

What is ERIC?

The Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) is a digital database of education-related research. Maintained by the Institute of Education Sciences at the U.S. Department of Education, ERIC is free to use.

ERIC contains more than 1.5 million bibliographic records including abstracts and citations covering all levels of educating from early childhood to higher education. In addition to published literature, ERIC also indexes unpublished materials, which are often referred to as "grey literature."

With more than 350,000 full-text papers, ERIC is an indispensable resource for researchers working in the field of education.

How to search literature in ERIC?

1. Looking up literature in ERIC is quite easy.

Go to https://eric.ed.gov/ and type in a search term. For example:

2. ERIC will give you a list of papers and studies related to your search string.

With every article, ERIC will show you if it has access to the full text of the article or give you a direct link to the publisher's website.

3. You can filter articles by publication date, descriptor, source, author, publication type, educational level, audience, location, and more.

4. Since ERIC is one of the most comprehensive resources when it comes to education-related research, we have integrated it with Silvi.

This integration enables you to import thousands of articles from ERIC to Silvi to make your systematic review process smooth and efficient.

Importing Papers from ERIC into Silvi

5. Log into your Silvi account and click on "Create new project" and choose a name.

6. Go to ERIC and run a search. Filter results according to your requirements and copy the URL.

7. Go back to Silvi and click on "Import studies."

Select "Scientific database" and then ERIC. Paste URL you copied from ERIC's website.

Click on "Save" and then "Fetch."

Silvi will import all the studies from ERIC.

8. Click on "Start screening" and you will see the selected papers from ERIC imported to your Silvi account.
