Import studies from ERIC

Silvi lets you import papers directly from the ERIC database. Here's how:

What is ERIC?

The Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) is a digital database of education-related research. Maintained by the Institute of Education Sciences at the U.S. Department of Education, ERIC is free to use.

ERIC contains more than 1.5 million bibliographic records including abstracts and citations covering all levels of educating from early childhood to higher education. In addition to published literature, ERIC also indexes unpublished materials, which are often referred to as "grey literature."

With more than 350,000 full-text papers, ERIC is an indispensable resource for researchers working in the field of education.

How to search in ERIC?

Searching in ERIC is quite easy. You simply go to https://eric.ed.gov/ and type in your search. For example:

"social media as a pedagogical tool in undergraduate classroom"

The ERIC search engine supports advanced searching such as boolean search, phrase search and search in various fields. You can read more about how to do advanced search in ERIC here.

Once you have made your search, ERIC will give you a list of papers and studies matching your search string.

With every article, ERIC will show you if it has access to the full text of the article or give you a direct link to the publisher's website.

You can filter articles by publication date, descriptor, source, author, publication type, educational level, audience, location, and more.
